Yesterday was the 8th birthday of our very first precious grandchild, Will. I just can't believe how much he's grown up! This picture is the very first glimpse of Will that we ever had. It was taken while he was still in China, and was sent to Beth and David along with the "referral" papers, telling all about the baby that had been chosen for them to adopt.
That night, March 4, 2002, we had met Beth and David at Provino's Italian Restuarant to celebrate my birthday, before leaving the next day to fly to Maui. As you can imagine, seeing that precious little face, made that birthday the most memorable one ever! We were soooo excited. We took that picture with us to Hawaii and looked at it constantly. Knowing that it wouldn't be long before we would see him "in person" was such a wonderful realization.
Will has been such a joy! He was the first granchild on both sides of the family, so he has been spoiled just a little, but is so sweet and smart. Tomorrow, Will and his sister, Abby, will have a combined Birthday party at a skating rink with their friends, and then the family will go out to dinner together. Happy Birthday, Will! We love you!
