President's Day Together
Our week and weekend has been so busy that I haven't had a chance to share my photos from this past Monday--President's Day. Ralph wanted to get more painting done, so our kind son-in-law, David, offered to spend his day off, helping Ralph paint. Thank you, thank you, David! Well, we girls had to have something fun to do with the kids! So, we decided that ALL of us would go to the Japanese Hibachi place, Fuji Ya, for lunch, and then the guys would return home to paint.(We invited Amy and her kids to join us, since Corin was working.) When the guys went back to paint, we went to Monkey Joe's for the kids to get rid of some of their pent-up energy. They all love those jumping places! What fun!

Two more sweet Valentines!
Yesterday, after church, we got to take Pressley to lunch with us. Her brother had a birthday party to attend, so Amy took him to that and came back to our house, afterward. When we gave them their Valentine bags, they were so cute. I asked Pressley what she wanted to name her puppy. Without even a thought, she said "CJ". I don't know where she got that name, but she was very definite about it.

Two Sweet Valentines
Yesterday, I got to deliver two of the Valentine bags I fixed! Beth's school had "early release day", and of course, that doesn't include the teachers. So, she had asked if I would pick Will and Abby up early(at 12:30) and spend time with them until she got out. Of course, I would!!! I love having time with them, and we had a ball. I gave them their Valentine bags and they were so excited. Often, I have to beg them to let me take pictures, but they were eager yesterday. I think I was able to really capture their personalities, too. They are such loves! Then, we went over to the pool and playground area in their subdivision and took their scooters for them to ride. I posted one of Will on his scooter, but Abby enjoyed the playground instead. It was a beautiful afternoon, and "all was right with the world".
I hope I'll be able to get some pictures of my other sweet Valentines tomorrow. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!
Oh, and the beautiful roses are from my sweet husband of 43 years!

Valentine Fun!
Valentines is always such a fun time! It was such fun when I was a child,to decorate my Valentine box. We took an old shoe-box, covered it with red paper, glued white doilies on it, and attached pink or red valentine hearts all over it. I remember my sisters and I competing to see who could make the prettiest one. Then we would exchange little valentines with all our friends in our class. Amy, my younger daughter, says that a simple store-bought card doesn't get it anymore, though. Now the kids expect treats with their cards from each child. Nothing seems as simple as it used to be! Oh well, I'm sure they still have lots of fun.
The fun I have now, though, is seeing Valentine's Day through the eyes of my grandchildren. I've been putting some bags together today for them. Last year, I did fancy lettering with their names on the bags, but this year, they will have to be plain and simple, since I can't find my paint pen. Inside each bag, there are several little "goodies". There is a heart-shaped box of candy( only 5 pieces); a cute little puppy with a heart around it's neck that says "Kiss me"; several pencils; several candy kisses; and a Hidden Picture Playground book for each of them.
I had such a good time fixing them--I just hope they like them.
I'm posting some pictues of their bags--all ready to go, and I'm also including some pictures of my heart tree that is sitting on the kitchen table. I use the tree for several seasons. I have bunnies for Easter, hearts for Valentines, and Christmas ornaments for Christmas. I don't even remember where I got it, but it's been fun to find different things to hang on it. I hope everyone will have a great Valentine's Day!
